NETHER in West Baltimore (Pennsylvania Ave x Fulton Ave)
If you know Baltimore you probably have seen the red sign with the x that is just as prevalent around the city on vacants as the beloved “we buy houses” signs. If you don’t know what it means it has been put there by city because the property has gotten so decrepit due to a lack of upkeep that it is structurally unsound. Its there to let the fire department know that if it the building catches on fire not to enter to fight the fire for it is not worth it and dangerous.  These signs are are even on blocks where businesses are open and people live like this one.  There wouldn’t be this sign or this problem if the city and slumlords actually made an effort to deal with their problematic properties. Its the law and what is right.
